چکیده

We show that any graph that contains k edge-disjoint double rays for any k ∈ N contains also infinitely many edge-disjoint double rays. This was conjectured by Andreae in 1981.

An accessibility theorem for infinite graph minors

In his recent collection [ 2 ] of open problems about infinite graphs, Halin defines the following hierarchy of graphs. He defines Γ0 to be the class of all graphs (finite or infinite), and for each ordinal μ > 0 he defines Γμ as the class of all graphs containing, for each λ < μ, infinitely many disjoint connected graphs from Γλ. Thus, Γ1 is the class of infinite graphs, Γ2 is the class of all...

Edge-Ends in Countable Graphs

The notion of ends equivalence classes on the set of rays (one-way infinite paths) of a graph is one of the most studied topics in infinite graph theory. An introduction to this theory and basic results can be found in Halin [3]. Halin defined two rays to be equivalent if no finite set of vertices can separate an infinite part of the first ray from an infinite part of the second one. In particu...

Decompositions of infinite graphs: Part II circuit decompositions

We characterize the graphs that admit a decomposition into circuits, i.e. finite or infinite connected 2-regular graphs. Moreover, we show that, as is the case for the removal of a closed eulerian subgraph from a finite graph, removal of a non-dominated eulerian subgraph from a (finite or infinite) graph does not change its circuit-decomposability or circuit-indecomposability. For cycle-decompo...

The locating-chromatic number for Halin graphs

Let G be a connected graph. Let f be a proper k -coloring of G and Π = (R_1, R_2, . . . , R_k) bean ordered partition of V (G) into color classes. For any vertex v of G, define the color code c_Π(v) of v with respect to Π to be a k -tuple (d(v, R_1), d(v, R_2), . . . , d(v, R_k)), where d(v, R_i) is the min{d(v, x)|x ∈ R_i}. If distinct vertices have distinct color codes, then we call f a locat...

Forcing highly connected subgraphs

By a theorem of Mader [5], highly connected subgraphs can be forced in finite graphs by assuming a high minimum degree. Solving a problem of Diestel [2], we extend this result to infinite graphs. Here, it is necessary to require not only high degree for the vertices but also high vertex-degree (or multiplicity) for the ends of the graph, i.e. a large number of disjoint rays in each end. We give...
